As reported in a May 1, 2012 American Bar Association Journal post by Debra Cassens Weiss, more and more top U.S. firms, especially in the plaintiff area, are turning to litigation finance companies to help finance cases for their clients (mainly involving financing of fees and costs). For example, Burford Capital--one of the top finance firms--reportedly is expecting to make $32 million on 9 cases, a 91% return.
