Zillow Reported Mounting Legal Fees For 2016, Expected To Exceed $50 Million For The Year And Totaling Over $77 Million For The Last Two Years.
Just to show you how legal costs can be for well-known companies, take Zillow for example. It legal fees for the 2015 and 2016 years are projected to exceed $77 million, with $50-55 million occurring in 2016 (added to $27.1 million for 2015). A lot of that was likely due to its contentious trade secrets battle with Realtor.com; however, Zillow recently reached a $130 million settlement on the eve of a trial in Seattle so its legal fees might subside for a time.
