They Will Be Missed On Our 4/3 DCA.
At an Orange County Bar Association appellate section meeting on March 5, 2021, Presiding Justice Kathleen O’Leary presented a ZOOM presentation on the state of the 4/3 DCA. Among other things (including that appeals were down during the pandemic but that operations ran smoothly due to terrific staff coordination), she announced that two of her colleagues, Justice Richard Aronson and Raymond Ikola, had indicated that they planned to retire around July of this year. Co-contributor Mike (several times with the briefing help of co-contributor Marc) has argued before these two justice quite a number of times, and we as well as our co-blogger Shanna Strader wish them happiness—thanking them for their service on the appellate bench (after prior tenures on the Orange County Superior Court).
